Revenge of the Nerds ( Chester French Inspired )

Everybody is walking around in sheep's clothing nowadays. This whole hipster facade everyone is creating for themselves, not realizing being a hipster is more about your mentality and way of being...not just the clothes you wear and what you're listening to. You're probably wondering how Chester French ties into this and it's because of the song, "Nerd Girl."

Lately, it seems everyone has become obsessed with finding "their person" and after reading Steve Harvey's book, Ive realized that my requirements (mentality) don't often match my preferences (physically). So, when I was listening to Chester French's "Nerd Girl" featuring the ultimate Nerd Girl, Janelle Monae, I began to think. The song starts with, "The girls I used to chase round were nothing but looks. Never cared bout the news I follow or my favorite books..." And I started thinking, that ain't nothing but the truth! Because our society is so consumed with looks, we never actually account personality into the equation, until it's too late.

I've always been told I was kind of out there as far as my interests are concerned and often talk to people who don't understand me and leave me with this void, this untapped into part of myself, that anyone I date or have any relationship with ( friendship or otherwise ) should know about, love, and appreciate. Because, knowing that part of me is to in essence know me.

So, I often times find myself escaping to music and admiring these male artists I follow and wonder are there any guys in actual life that share these traits, interests and outlooks on life. What guys are these? The Kid Cudis, Kanye Wests, Commons, Drakes (well, he's about to be on the same thing I put Wayne on --previous post), and Wayne used to be one of these people as well. But, where are these guys? Am I looking in the wrong places? Are they carrying themselves a certain way so that they appeal to a more general spectrum? I know it's not widely accepted, at least not in the black community to be into news and the arts and still be a REAL BLACK MAN, whatever that is. But, I know these guys are out there, somewhere. These Nerd Boys, Hipsters, and Renaissance Men.

Btw: Kid Cudi doesn't have too much to do with this post. I just came across this picture and had to find a use for it somehow.
